Ars, France was a town which had been notorious for its vice and abuses before our saint was assigned as its parish priest. St. John Vianney transformed the town to the point where the worst of sinners confessed their sins and lives were turned completely around. People came from all over Europe to hear his Masses, and to confess – especially since our saint had the gift of reading hearts. He is the patron saint of parish priests.
